The quest for Meatballs
After exploring all morning on our bikes we sat in the never-ending afternoon sun to savor our over priced beers $7 each!
Trying to decide on dinner flicking through the lonely planet and searching for a restaurant that has traditional meatballs. There is mention of a Cafe Nero that has beautiful veal meatballs. It just happened to be on the other side of the city.
So we finished our beers and got back on our bikes to ride there. It was quite a ride but in the amber light of the afternoon it made it a pleasure.
After a couple of wrong turns and much debate over exactly which street we should take we eventually arrived.
As we took our seat and looked around the chic white and raw cement interior, I couldn't help think it was too nice to be in the budget section of the food guide.
This was quickly confirmed when menus where placed in front of us. No meatballs, only pasta and starting at $30 each! plus some overpriced Australian wines. We looked at each other with raises eyebrows, decided we had to find somewhere cheaper and walked out.
By the time we got back to Sodermalm it was after 10pm and nothing except bars were open. In desperation we settled on the local kebab shop. The upside was the serving size was enormous! But the quest for meatballs continues.....
